Mentoring Program

We are excited to announce a new mentoring program for Michigan alums in the Seattle area!

About the Program

We are launching, in cooperation with the U-M Alumni Association, an alum-to-alum (A2) mentoring program pilot. We are looking for both mentors and mentees interested in professional and career development and networking. We will be pairing mid/seasoned professionals (mentors) with new/young professionals (mentees) with similar professional interests.

Sign Up & Matching Process

See our sample Look Book for examples of the sorts of information we are looking for.

If you are interested in being a mentor, please fill out the Mentor/Mentee Interest Form by July 8 to provide us with some basic information about your professional background and experiences.

If you are interested in being a mentee, please fill out the Mentor/Mentee Interest Form by July 8, to provide us with information about your career interests.

Once we have our mentor volunteers, a portfolio with background information about all mentors will be provided to all interested mentees. There will then be an open sign up process, where mentees can sign up to work with their preferred mentor.

Program Activities

After mentors and mentees are matched, we will host an official kick-off event in August, where you will meet your mentor or mentee in person and mingle with other program participants. Afterwards, we ask that you schedule at least one meeting per month for six months. We will formally conclude the program at the six month mark, but hope you continue the relationships going forward!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Jenni Smith via email at jenni@umseattle.org.
