Have you ever wanted to share your passion for Michigan with the next generation of college students?
Alumni Student Recruiting (ASR)
The U-M Alumni Student Recruitment program matches up alumni with local high schools, and notifies alums when prospective students have been accepted to Michigan. As an Alumni Student Recruiter, you provide the one-on-one interaction, personal attention and encouragement that can make the difference between a student in your community choosing Michigan or another school. Providing your perspective as a U-M graduate is the most important part of the program.

Not sure you have the time to adopt a school but still want to help? Each year we hold two events designed to encourage and support prospective Michigan students from the area.
Admitted Students Reception
In the spring, we invite prospective students who have been accepted to the University of Michigan to a pizza dinner at Piecora’s on Capitol Hill. Many of the students who attend are still undecided and the reception gives them and their parents an opportunity to learn more about the Michigan experience.
We’ve heard from both parents and students who have said that these receptions have made the difference for them between choosing Michigan and another school, so we know we’re doing something right!
Recent graduates, this is where you come in. Please plan on attending to share your stories and perspective, and enjoy a free pizza dinner while you’re at it.
In the summer, we host a student send-off for new freshmen before they head off to Ann Arbor. Parents are welcome to attend with their students, along with current students and recent grads. This is usually a barbecue and picnic held at the home of a local alumnus. The event gives students a chance to make connections with others in their class.
